espresso coffee machines In a previous post I gave a quick run down on the history of espresso coffee machines. Today I want to share some facts about the beans that we throw into espresso coffee machines. Did you know that coffee hit the beverage scene in the 9th century? Ethiopia is thought to be the first place coffee was introduced. As I said in the last post, espresso coffee machines were not invented until the turn of the 20th century. People took a lot of time before looking for a quick way to make quick coffee beverages.

After coffee was introduced in Ethiopia it spread north to Egypt and then over to the Middle East then Europe and finally to America. We may have been the last country to get a hold of coffee but it is fair to say we made up for lost time. You can’t drive 10 minutes down the road anymore without  seeing a Café, coffee stand or somewhere that has espresso coffee machines.

The most common coffee bean is Canephora and Arabica, both from Latin America. After coffee is picked and dried, it is roasted at 392 degrees, fahrenheit.
