Throughout my life, I have been fascinated with coffee. I remember a handful of Sundays when my mother hostessed a brunch for all of our family members and friends. My favorite thing about the spread was that my mom always set up a coffee bar. She would place out all different types of spices, cocoa and other flavored syrups for the guests to use. Best of all, she had an espresso machine and would put out recipes for lattes, cappuccinos and mochas. Our guests would always rave about mom's latte bar. There was no one else who went so far out of their way to create a delicious, creative and esthetically pleasing experience than mom.

Now that I am a grown woman, I also have family members and friends over for Sunday brunch. I have followed mom's example and made a latte bar for my guests as well. I love that I have continued the tradition of the family brunch and latte bar. I hope that someday I have a daughter who is interested in continuing the tradition as well. I am already planning another brunch for next month and just like when I was little, the coffee bar is still my favorite part. The only difference is that now, I get to enjoy it with all of the other adults.
